ODM Issues Urgent Notice to Members

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has announced nationwide delegate elections in 43 counties.
In a statement on Sunday, August 17, the party revealed that the elections would be conducted in a week, on August 25.
All counties, except Nairobi, Migori, Homa Bay, and Kisumu, will be conducting the elections on the same day.
“The National Elections Coordinating Committee (NECC) will conduct countrywide county delegates’ elections, except for the counties of Migori, Nairobi, Homa Bay, and Kisumu,” the statement read in part.
“The elections will take place at designated polling centres on Monday, August 25, 2025.”
The party further urged prospective delegates, qualified to vie as published on its official website, to apply for positions at county offices.
To vie, all aspirants will be required to pay application fees to the party’s paybill number, with the amount depending on the position being sought.
Anyone seeking a non-executive position in the county offices will need to pay Ksh1,000, while those seeking women, youth, disability, and special interest representative positions will pay Ksh2,500 each.
Aspirants for all other executive positions at the county offices, except the chairperson seat, will be required to pay a Ksh5,000 registration fee.
Lastly, aspirants for chairperson positions at county offices will pay Ksh10,000 in registration.
Ahead of its grassroots elections earlier this year in April, ODM announced the dismissal of all county election coordinators in Nairobi County on April 2.
In a statement by the party’s Secretary-General, Edwin Sifuna, ODM also confirmed the expulsion of the chair of the elections coordinators in Migori and some coordinators in Siaya County.
“The county elections coordinators for Nairobi, all of them, have been dismissed. Also, the chair of coordinators in Migori and some of the coordinators in Siaya County are to be replaced with immediate effect. New coordinators shall be announced to take up those slots by the NECC,” he stated.
