The MOJA Expressway Company, which operates the Nairobi Expressway, has clarified that a press statement circulating online regarding the temporary closure of roads leading to the CBD is not accurate.
Speaking toKenyans.co.ke, the company confirmed that the statement did not originate from its official communication channels and that no such closure has occurred.
It added that the Nairobi Expressway is operating normally and urged Kenyans to verify information from the company’s official page.
“We have seen the post circulating on social media. We wish to clarify that the circular is fake, and we have not issued any official statement on the matter. We urge the public to rely on our official communication platforms for accurate information regarding the expressway,” the company stated.
The fake statement, dated Thursday, August 21, 2025, claimed that sections of the expressway were temporarily closed due to an unplanned procession by supporters of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
