How Taxi Driver was Tricked to Deliver Body to Police Station

Police in Murang’a have arrested four suspects accused of murdering a woman and tricking an unsuspecting taxi driver into delivering her body as a parcel.
The woman was reportedly killed, after which her body was wrapped in blankets and placed in a plastic bag.
According to the police, the suspects gave the body to a taxi driver and asked him to deliver it without informing him of its contents.
Kigumo police commander Hassan Bashir said the driver was working the route between Mokambiki and Kangari town when a man he thought the man was a passenger flagged him down.
After the driver stopped, the man asked him to deliver a package to a specific point in Kangari town, where another person would be waiting for it.
According to the police, the driver was paid for the delivery, so he helped the man put the heavy package into the car.
The police said that, upon reaching the destination, the driver could not find anyone to whom he was to deliver the package.
“The driver then proceeded to town where he had been told to drop the parcel but he did not find anyone who appeared to be waiting for it,” police explained.
After waiting for a long time, the driver realised that no one was coming for the package. He decided to take it to Kangari police station in case the owner came to claim it.
When he arrived at the station, the officers demanded that he open the package so they could see its contents. They were shocked to find a dead body wrapped in a bag inside.
“The officers demanded that the Parcel be opened for them to see the contents and were surprised to find it was a human body wrapped in polyethylene bag and clothes,” Bashir added.
Officers then began their investigations and they managed to arrest four suspects who managed to help explain what happened.
“The officers were able to act swiftly and the preliminary investigation led to the arrest of the four who are helping us to unravel what transpired,” Bashir added.
