Govt Announces 400 Opportunities for Unemployed Youth

Kenyan youths have been urged to apply for 400 opportunities in the latest cohort of the Presidential Digital Talent (Digitalent) Internship Programme.
Through a notice released by the Information Communication Technology (ICT) Authority on Tuesday, August 26, the youths were encouraged to apply for various slots in areas such as Network and Digital Infrastructure, Software Development, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Other areas include Multimedia (Graphic Design), Digital Marketing, and Data Analytics.
The Authority urged interested applicants to apply before the deadline of Monday, September 15, 2025, a period of 21 days.
“The ICT Authority invites suitable recent university graduates to apply for the Presidential Digital Talent Programme (PDTP) Cohort X Intake,” the Authority noted.
“The program provides participants an excellent opportunity to gain workplace experience, expand knowledge, mentorship, refine career goals and build professional networks in the areas of: Network & Digital Infrastructure (150), Software Development & AI (100), Information Security (50), Multimedia (Graphic Design) & Digital Marketing (50), and Data Analytics (50),” it added.
In the initiative that has been massivelyspearheaded by President William Ruto, young, talented Kenyanswith a passion for ICT and Public Service undergo a structured 12-month internship programme in both the public and private sectors.
The objective of the program is todevelop and prepare young ICT graduates to take up employment opportunitiesthat come up in the ICT field as well as other sectors.
It comes with strict eligibility criteria that applicants must align with to stand a chance of being shortlisted.
1. Applicants must have graduated and attained First or Upper Second-Class Honours (or the equivalent) from a recognised institution in the last two years (from Jan 2023).
2. If waiting for graduation (till Dec 2025), applicants must provide a recommendation/reference letter from the University stamped and signed by the university indicating the class to be awarded (First or Upper Second-Class Honours).
3. Recent graduates in BSc. ICT or Engineering (Electrical & Electronics, Telecommunication, Systems/Software, Computer). The graduates must have thorough knowledge in their core areas of specialisation: Network & Digital Infrastructure, Software Development & AI, Information Security, Multimedia (Graphic Design) & Digital Marketing, and Data Analytics. The Applicant may be required to demonstrate technical competencies in their core area of specialisation before the interview.
4. Must be a Kenyan youth between 21 to 29 years of age and unemployed.
5. Should not have undertaken any other Internship program in the government.
6. Applicants should be willing and ready to be deployed in any government organisation (MCDAs) within the 47 counties on a full-time basis from 8 am to 5 pm.
7. Females, persons with disability, and graduates from ASAL regions are encouraged to apply.
1. Interested applicants MUST complete the online application form via the recruitment site and attach relevant documents as indicated in the form.
2. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
3. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted to attend the interviews.
