Former Garissa North Member of Parliament (MP), Abdikadir Hassan Yussuf, has died.
In a statement, Fafi MP Abdikarim Osman announced that the former legislator, popularly known as Tallie, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025.
According to reports, the former MP passed away while in transit in Dubai on his way back to Kenya from Australia.
The exact cause of his death is yet to be revealed.
Osman offered his condolences to Yussuf’s family, praying that Allah grants them strength in their time of loss.
“I am deeply saddened by the passing of former Garissa North MP Hon. Abdikadir Hassan Yussuf, alias Tallie, who passed away earlier today. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time, and I pray that Allah grants them strength and patience to bear this loss.
“May the Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him an eternal abode in Jannatul Firdaus. Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un,” said Osman.
Following his death, several leaders, including Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, have since extended their condolences to the family.
Abdikadir served as the Garissa North MP in the 5th Parliament in 1983.
