Details of Gachagua’s Planned Procession on Thursday

Rigathi Gachagau will make a procession from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Thursday, head to the CBD, and then make their way to the Kamukunji Grounds for a rally.
According to the Democratic for Citizens Party (DCP) deputy party leader Cleophas Malala, thousands of supporters are expected to join the procession as the party welcomes the former deputy president home from his trip to the United States.
In a press briefing on Monday, August 18, Malala claimed that thousands of supporters from across the country will flock to the JKIA at 8am to receive the former DP.
After the DP lands, Malala claims that the supporters will go ahead and have “a mother of all peaceful processions” from JKIA to Nairobi CBD.
Gachagua will then proceed to the Kamukunji Grounds, where he will address the public, happenings that Malala confirmed that the Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja has been informed about.
” Last week, we announced that our party leader will return to the nation on Thursday, and we want to confirm that his return is still as scheduled. We call the people of Kenya to show up at JKIA   to receive him, where we shall have a mother of all peaceful processions upon his arrival,” Malala said.
“The procession will begin from JKIA to the Central Business District and later address a public rally at the Kamukunji grounds. The police are hereby notified to provide security, and they should not dare to disrupt the processions,” he added.
Malala has further alleged that a plot has been engineered to divert Gachagua’s plane to either Moi International Airport or Kisumu International Airport to arrest him.
Malala has, however, assured that the party has directed Gachagua’s supporters in these areas to also be on alert and flock to the two airports to prevent any arrests of him from being arrest.
“Any attempt to arrest Gachagua once he lands in the country will be met by our supporters across the country, and we have asked our supporters to be on standby,” Malala said.
