Bus Bursts Into Flames on Nairobi-Nakuru Highway

A major traffic disruption occurred Monday morning on the Nairobi–Nakuru Highway after a Guardian Angel bus caught fire at Soysambu.
The blaze caused a heavy snarl-up on the Nairobi-bound lane, leaving many motorists stranded in long queues.
Photos and videos seen byKenyans.co.keshowed the bus engulfed in flames, with thick black smoke billowing into the air as bystanders and motorists watched in shock.
The cause of the fire remains unclear, with investigations expected once the scene is secured.
No injuries or casualties had been reported as of the time of publishing this story, with the company yet to release a statement on the incident.
Additionally, it was not immediately clear whether the bus, a Public Service Vehicle (PSV), had passengers on board at the time of the incident.
Meanwhile, motorists and commuters have been urged to remain calm and cooperate as authorities work to restore normal traffic flow.
Incidents of fires in PSVs are not uncommon along Kenyan roads, with infernos stemming from different factors.In extreme cases, mechanical issues, including overheated engines, broken fuel lines, or leaks in the oil system, can ignite flammable fluids within a PSV.
In April, another bus attached to the Guardian Angel company burst into flames from the back, leaving passengers scampering for safety.
