Body of Officer Who Died in Haiti Arrives in Kenya
The body of police officer Kennedy Mutuko Nzuve, who died in Haiti, arrived at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Nairobi, on the evening of September 26, 2025.
Corporal Nzuve died in Haiti on September 1 after being involved in a fatal road accident.
The body was received by the National Police Service (NPS) fraternity, led by the Commandant of the National Police College Embakasi ‘A’ Campus and Isaac Alimaa, SAIG, together with corporal’s family.
Corporal Nzuve tragically lost his life in the accident while serving with the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSSM) in Haiti.
According to NPS, Corporal’s body was taken to Chiromo Mortuary for preservation as the burial arrangements are made.
“Following the reception, the body was transferred to Chiromo Mortuary for preservation. Burial arrangements will be communicated at a later date,” part of the statement reads.
NPS in the statement issued a condolences message to the family, colleagues of the late officer and his friends.
“The National Police Service conveys its deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the fallen officer and assures them of its unwavering support during this period of profound sorrow,” it stated.
Several Kenyan police officers were deployed to Haiti for the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSSM).
During the mission, another police officer was confirmed dead by the National Police Service (NPS) on September 25.Police confirmed that Benedict Kabiru, the officerwho went missing in March 2025 during the MSSM in Haiti, is dead.
In a statement released on Thursday, September 25, the police announced they had received information about Kabiru’s passing, six months after his disappearance.
“The officer had been reported missing while on duty the previous day, on March 25, following an ambush on the Carrefour Paye-Savien main supply route in the Pont-Sonde area of the Artibonite Department,” a statement from the NPS read.
“In a tragic turn of events, the National Police Service (NPS) received information regarding the death of the missing police officer, and the family has been notified.”
