KNEC Announces Release of 2025 Exam Results
The Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has announced the release of the results for the May/June 2025 Pearson Edexcel International Examinations.
Pearson Edexcel offersinternationally recognised qualificationsfor students outside of the United Kingdom.
In a notice on Thursday, the examination council urged the candidates who sat for exams in the three levels offered to collect their results at specific centres in Nairobi, Mombasa and Uasin Gishu counties.
The exams sat for were the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), the International Advanced Levels (IAL) and the International Primary and Lower Secondary Curriculum (IPLSC) for years six and nine.
Candidates in Nairobi can collect their results from the Foreign Examinations Office at Mitihani House in South C area, Nairobi.
In Mombasa, they are available at the Uhuru na Kazi Building, 4th Floor, in Mombasa City, and finally in Uasin Gishu at the Gulab Lochab Academy in Eldoret.
KNEC registers private candidates and administers international examinations on behalf of Pearson, with the registration and administration of examinations carried out in only the three counties.
This announcement comes just days after KNECannounced that the country would, for the first time, take part in a global education benchmarking initiative known as theProgramme for International Student Assessment (PISA).
Spearheaded by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the assessment will see select Kenyan students get evaluatedon how well they can apply knowledge in science, mathematics, and reading to real-world situations, as opposed to rote memorisation.
“PISA offers a unique opportunity to benchmark our learners against global standards. This will help inform curriculum development and policy direction to ensure that Kenya’s education system remains globally competitive,” KNEC said in a statement on August 4.
The assessment will begin in September andwill target 15-16-year-old learners across selected schools in Kenya.
