As Technology Gaps Widen, Brazilian Entrepreneur Aims to Help Small Businesses Deliver Smarter, Not Harder

Across the United States, small and mid-sized businesses are under growing pressure to modernize and scale their operations in a technology-driven economy. Yet for many of these companies, particularly those in non-coastal regions or underserved industries, access to experienced technical leadership remains out of reach. A persistent shortage of qualified project managers, engineering leaders, and data specialists has left thousands of technology initiatives delayed, fragmented, or failed outright. This inefficiency is costing the U.S. economy billions in lost productivity.

While large enterprises can afford dedicated in-house teams and robust digital infrastructure, smaller firms must often navigate complex challenges with limited staff and minimal resources. According to recent labor projections, the demand for software developers and IT professionals will outpace supply well into the next decade. This creates acute gaps in execution and strategic planning. The situation is compounded by low adoption rates of artificial intelligence among small businesses, with fewer than one-third currently leveraging AI tools, often because of budget constraints or a lack of technical expertise.

In response to this shortfall, Bridgestage DS Consulting is preparing to launch operations from its headquarters in Canton, Ohio. Though not yet active, the firm is designed to serve as a flexible and accessible partner to businesses seeking support in project management, technical leadership, and AI integration. By combining agile delivery frameworks with practical tools and mentoring, the company aims to bridge the divide between business needs and technological execution. This focus is particularly important for firms that lack full-time technical managers or the resources to adopt advanced software solutions independently.

The venture is the vision of Daniele Abrantes Ferraz Sencio, whose journey in technology began with a deep curiosity about how innovation can shape lives. With more than 15 years of experience in software development, team leadership, and digital transformation, her professional story is also a personal one shaped by balancing a thriving career and raising two children. Based in Brazil for much of her career, she has guided technology teams in both multinational corporations and startups, always seeking to inspire her colleagues and foster growth. Her work has spanned mobile applications, enterprise platforms, and backend systems, and in recent years she has become increasingly focused on integrating AI and data analytics into everyday business processes.

Sencio’s decision to establish her company in the United States reflects both professional ambition and a desire to create opportunity for her family and others. She has learned firsthand how resilience and empathy can drive leadership, and she views the current labor shortage as a chance to offer solutions that are not only efficient but also deeply human. “A lot of companies don’t need to build massive internal teams. They need guidance, structure, and tools that work for their reality,” she explains. “My goal is to help them lead better, deliver smarter, and access innovation without barriers.”

Through Bridgestage DS Consulting, she plans to offer a combination of consulting services and hands-on delivery support, including agile coaching, team mentoring, technical scoping, and AI readiness assessments. The company’s approach is designed to be adaptable, serving both remote and on-site clients, and aims to foster knowledge transfer that enables organizations to become more self-sufficient over time.

What makes the initiative distinctive is its emphasis on accessibility. Instead of relying on complex codebases or expensive integrations, the company will introduce no-code platforms and automation tools that allow non-technical stakeholders to take part in decision-making. By translating emerging technologies into clear, actionable strategies, Sencio intends to unlock opportunities for innovation in sectors that often lag behind in digital adoption, such as healthcare, education, and e-commerce.

In a broader context, the firm’s mission aligns with national priorities of strengthening the small business ecosystem, improving labor productivity, and expanding AI adoption beyond large corporations. Government data shows that small businesses account for 99.9 percent of all companies in the country and employ nearly half of the private workforce. Yet many lack the support needed to scale effectively. Bridgestage DS Consulting enters with a vision of helping these businesses compete not through size, but through agility, clarity, and smarter use of technology.
